Exploring the tunnels of the maginot line
Imagine it is the year 1944 and WW2 is in full swing. You are a French soldier stationed at Schoenenbourg in the Alsace. While stationed there, you spend almost all your time in the bunkers 30m underground, going about day to day life with 630 other men and waiting for the Germans to attack. Life in the tunnels were hard, but today, 80 years after the war has ended, the intricate tunnel system offers facinating insights on the workings of life on the front line.
